God Works! is an opportunity like none
other available, especially to sex-offenders
who are about to be released from prison
and find themselves with no other place to
go. We are not a half-way house, we are not
a flop house, we are not a group of people
looking to make a quick dollar on your
misfortune.
We are a Christ-centered home that wants
to see you grow in your relationship with
God and succeed in life. We want you to get
back on your feet, get employed, and move
on healthier and in more command of those
things that tried to ruin your life in the past.
One of the ways that we are different is that
we require no money up front if you do not
have it at your disposal. Rent is only $400 a
month, which includes all utilities and meals.
We help you register, provide clothing and
with hygiene items, we help you find
employment and provide you with a safe
environment in which you can not only
survive, but it’s designed to have you thrive.
Not only are you living in an actual home (as
apposed to an uncaring, unforgiving
dwelling), but there are people who are here
who care about you and we don’t even know
your name yet, but we love you just the
same.
WHAT’S THE CATCH?
The phrase you never get something for
nothing is certainly true. We do have
requirements and our program is certainly not
meant for everyone. First off you must either
have or want a relationship with God through
Jesus his son. Our ministry is not only Christ-
centered; it is Christ-all inclusive. Secondly
you have to want to change, and that means
from the inside and working the way out. We
care about you and we want you to achieve
all that.
OUR REQUIREMENTS
These are in addition to the aforementioned:
You are to abide by all conditions of release,
whether you agree with the condition or not.
We are located so that we meet all
requirements of the Jessica Lunsford and
Adam Walsh acts for residency.
You are to seek employment or other means
to be self sufficient (for those who are
retirement age or disabled).
You are to attend all religious services,
Sunday morning and Wednesday evening.
We also have you participate in a homeless
feeding on Saturday mornings and it is also
required except for cases of employment or
sickness.
calls from prison at (813) 982-9106, this is the only number that can accept collect calls and we
prefer you contact us after 5pm on any day other than Wednesday (when we are having our
Bible study).
We also need to get to know you, it is our policy to arrange a face-to-face meeting so we can
get to know you in person, though there may be some exceptions to that rule due to
circumstances and distances, we prefer to get to know you in person as opposed to over the
telephone. We will require background information, not only on your charge, but also on you so
we can better meet your needs. Your information will be solely kept between staff and is to
ensure that there will be nothing to serve as a stumbling block to you when you are released.
